Plastic Portraits
For the project Clean2Amsterdam, that was inspired by Clean2Antarctica, I shot various “Plastic Portraits”. These portraits are inspired, same as the project, by the 17th century.
The project itself aims to build a 17th century ship, totally from waste plastic.
It inspires others to rethink waste. It inspires others to rethink their behavior surrounding waste. In doing so they encourage people to become “Stadsjutters”, Collectors of waste.
By bringing their plastic waste, they earn recognition by the project and get signed in to the “Register of Collectors”.
They do so by get their name written down, and also get their picture taken, 17th century style, with a modern flare; with plastic. Plastic is never wasted.
We also asked them to make a wish for the future.
